Pippa was the first horse we purchased for Hope Reins Ranch. We love her zest for life. Everything she does is with exuberance. Pippa has one blue eye and one brown eye.
Story is privately owned and free leased to Hope Reins Ranch. She is the lead mare at Hope Reins Ranch and may take her job a little too seriously! :)
Gideon is the gelding herd leader. He is a registered Standbred and came to Hope Reins Ranch from the auction. His registered name is Rhyme and Rhythm and, according to the Standardbred registry, had been sent to slaughter 10 years prior to him showing up at auction again.
Obviously that information was incorrect! We are always in awe of his prescense as he is the epitomy of a good leader and always a gentleman.
Chevy is a registered Stardardbred that was bailed from the auction by a generous family who is very near and dear to our hearts. His registered name is Chevy to the Levy. We love his antics and, even more so, his empathy for our visitors. He's been known to give hugs when needed.
Spanky (on the left) and JB were previously boarded at the same barn where we boarded Pippa. We fell in love with these two minis and purchased them for Hope Reins Ranch. They are our "intro horses" for our younger visitors and those who may be timid around horses. These two are extremely patient with our guests. Their antics keep us laughing.
Emmitt came to us from a rescue in upstate New York. We were drawn to him because his story was much the same as Job's. We knew that he would have a safe landing with our herd. He's besties with Bruce.
Simon is an aged pony that we purchased from auction. Simon has had many barriers broken down since he came to Hope Reins Ranch. He has quickly beome a favorite of our vistors and serves as the "welcome wagon" for new horses introduced to the herd.
Willow was donated to Hope Reins Ranch. Willow has taught us so much about choosing to trust God again inspite of our past experiences. Willow is definitely a fan favorite at Hope Reins Ranch.
Roscoe was privately owned and free leased to Hope Reins Ranch. He was a registered Paso Fino. He had a special spot in his heart for the young girls. He loved to be doted on!
*Roscoe was laid to rest fall of 2023 and we look forward to being reunited with him again.
Journey was boarded at the same barn as Pippa, JB and Spanky. The barn owner donated Journey to Hope Reins Ranch in the hopes that he could have a new life. Our beloved trainer Erin was able to help him work through his trauma. He had come along beautifully and was Gideon's right hand man.
* Journey was laid to rest summer of 2024. He running in The Lord's Green Pastures and we look foward to seeing him again.
Our beloved Jessie Bear was donated to Hope Reins Ranch. He was a thoroughbred retired from fox hunting and Willow's beau. He was officially retired from riding but he wasn't retired from receiving any and all brushing, scratching and loving that was offered.
*Our very much loved Jessie Bear was peacefully laid to rest July of 2023 due to a number of health issues. Until we see you again our beloved Bear Bear!
Pablo was a resident of Hope Reins Ranch for several years. Pablo has an extemely gentle nature.
*Pablo has since returned to his original owner and lives his life with his buddy Toro. We are so thankful for the time we had with this beloved Paso Fino who wears his shield of faith boldly.
Blaze was donated to Hope Reins Ranch. He was 32 years old as of 2021. He knows how to do a trick for a treat and enjoys lots of attention!
*Blaze has since moved to a fabulous home with other very senior horses.
Reilley came to us beaten up and downtodden from the auction. We were compelled to offer this fella a home when we found out he was getting beat up by the other horses ain the auction pen. Given his size, we knew he must be a gentle boy. He was a registered Standarbred. His registered name was The Buck Stops Now. Reiley was the biggest horse we had at Hope Reins Ranch - over 17 hands! Such a nice sweet boy with such a big, beautiful gait.
*Peacefully laid to rest in 2021 due to a severe, inoperable case of colic. We can't wait to see this beautiful guy again - running free across God's Fields.
Job was a very special save from the auction. He was grossly underweight, had given up on life and had scars from a halter left on way to long. The auction house had put a rider on this poor fellow. We were compelled to save this older fellow and love up on him for what time he had left on this earth. Job had the gift of making non-horse people into horse lovers.
*Lovingly laid to rest 4 days after our beloved Reiley in 2021 due to congestive heart failure. See you at the Rainbow Bridge our sweet sweet Job!
